Altenew Inspiration Challenge August 2018

Hello, everyone. Thank you for stopping by. Today I am presenting my card I made to participate in the Altenew Inspiration Challenge August 2018.

My busy work schedule hasn’t stopped me from participating in the challenge this month because I just love the color combination. I had recently ordered some products from Altenew and hadn’t had a chance to play with some of them yet.

Here’s my card for today.

Altenew Perfectly Perfect

What Inspired me:

This is the picture form the inspiration post on Altenew Blog that inspired me to create my card.

How I made it:

I’ve been wanting to play with my new stamp set from Altenew called Perfectly Perfect. This stamp set is so pretty. The flower and leaves images in this stamp set are just outlined images. I love to use the outline images to stamp and color.

I stamped all the flower images and the leaves images on a watercolor paper with Versamark. Versamark is a sticky clear ink which helps the embossing powder to stick on it so I can heat set it using my heat tool to get the embossed image. I used White embossing powder.

Then the images were watercolored using the watercolor palette from  Prima Watercolors in the colors Tropical that I had bought on Amazon. I had in my mind the vision of blue flowers and green leaves on a yellow background.

Altenew Perfectly perfectThe Background:

Created the background on a white panel of cardstock sized 4 inches by 5 and a 1/4 inches in dimension. Used the yellow color from the same watercolor palette using the ink-smooshing technique. This technique is very popular these days to create a messy watercolor background.

Arranged the flowers and the leaves on the top left corner of the panel.  Some flowers were adhered directly using glue whereas some were added on a foam tape to create dimension.

The Sentiment:

Took a strip of black cardstock from my scrap stash, stamped it with two of the sentiments from the stamp set to make it look like one with Versamark ink. Embossed with white embossing powder and adhered using foam tape.

So here is my final card.

I just loved how it turned out. Let me know what you guys think about it in the comments section down below.

I have linked all the products  I used in the affiliated links just in case if you guys are interested in buying them please do so through these affiliated links so I get a certain percentage of the sale without an extra cost to you. I appreciate the support.

Hugs

Jyoti
