Hello there! Today I have a very fun interactive Christmas card to share I made using Lawn Fawn stamps and dies. I was never fond of critter stamps until I started making interactive cards with them. Flower stamps has always been my favorite.
Here’s the card for today.
I bought this Double Slider Magic Die set from Lawn fawn last month but finally got to use it. It’s a very fun interactive die that cuts the elements which creates the mechanism for the interactive card. When one sliding panel is pulled the other panel on the opposite side pops out too. It’s hard to explain in words but here’s a picture when it’s open.
The Focal Image:
For this Interactive Christmas card I used the stamp set called Starry night from Lawn Fawn. I stamped the cute foxes on a white piece of Neenah solar white card stock. Colored the all using Inktense Pencils. Blended the colors using Gamsol. I didn’t buy the die to cut these stamped images so I fussy cut the images using Tim Holtz scissors.
The Background:
For the background I wanted a starry night scene. I took a sheet of Neenah solar white card stock and inked it using Ranger Distressed Oxide inks in colors Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Black Soot. Then I sprayed some water with my Distressed Sprayer from Tom Holtz and then dried it to give it a textured look. I used a little Perfect Pearls on an acrylic block with some water and splattered that on the panel mainly on the top light part of the background. That gave it a sparkly starry look.
The Interactive Element:
The Double Slider Magic die from Lawn fawn cuts all the parts of the interactive card. I cut the front parts using the starry night ink blended background I created using the dies. Assembly was very easy. So, when I pull the inside panel on the one side of the card the other side automatically comes out revealing the magical interaction.
I then arranged the stamped images on the interactive part so that it looks like the family of foxes all gathered to watch the sky at Christmas Night. Then it was added to a 4 and a 1/4 by 5 and a 1/2 inch card base in light blue.
The sentiment was from the same stamp set. It reads Dreams Come True which I thought was perfect for this dreamy magical scene card.
I really loved how it turned out. Please let me know what you guys think in the comment below.
