Hello My Lovely Friends!
Today I have a few cards using Perfectly Perfect stamp set that released a while ago. I am using the fun background technique using watercolors and stencils on watercolor paper. And the star of the show is Finetec pearlescent watercolors.
The Focal image:
I used one of my favorite stamp set from Altenew called Perfectly Perfect and the coordinating dies for this card. The images from this stamp-set are outline images which you can color as you prefer. I picked watercolor on gold embossed images. I used Prima Watercolors to color the flowers in pinks and oranges and the leaves in different shades of greens.
to color the flowers in pinks and oranges and the leaves in different shades of greens.
Then it was layered with one thin quote of Finetec Pearlescent watercolors in matching shades. I love how these flowers shine in the light. It’s had to capture that in camera but I tried my best.
These look amazing in real life. The gold embossing and the shiny watercolor add the beauty to this card.
The background:
Not just the focal images but the background also is one of a kind in these cards. I used watercolor paper which was die cut using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die ( which I use in almost every project). Brushed it with clean water and then dropped some reds browns and green watercolors that match the look of brick on the water. Before it dried I sat Tim Holtz stencils one was wood texture and the other was brick texture of top of it. And let the watercolor do it’s magic. I left it overnight.
The other one is the same technique using the wood texture stencil.
The Sentiment:
There are no sentiments on these cards as so far. But this is better because I can just stamp and cut a strip of any type of sentiment and pop it on the card whenever I need to give it to anyone.
The card base:
The card bases are 4 and a quarter inches wide by 5 and a half inches tall standard A2 size card. I tried to match the colors of the card base to complement the color of the flowers.
I am participating in the Altenew Inspiration Challenge January 2019.
Here is the Inspiration Picture:
I also have one more card that I created a while back to participate in the Altenew Inspiration Challenge using this same stamp and die set. Please check out my post if you are interested.
These are gorgeous and it was the backgrounds that drew me in. What a wonderful technique and fabulous results. Thank you for sharing your technique.
Thank you so much Deborah
