Embroidered Cards / Spellbinders Stitched Alphabets Release

Embroidered cards are so unique and trendy nowadays. Spellbinders has released a lot of stitching dies in the past which you can do some simple stitching and create fun cards.

Hello everyone !

Today I’m sharing three cards I created using the Stitched Alphabet Dies collection from the latest release by Spellbinders. This release is very special as it has the whole set of alphabets. So you can create any word you like. I picked six dies that create the word THANKS from among all the letters of the alphabet set.

First Card

My first card is a regular slimline size landscape style card. This one measures 3 and a half by 8 and a half inches.

  1. I started by die cutting the alphabets with white card-stock.
  2. Then inked the die cuts with distressed oxide inks in rainbow order.
  3. I took silver Embroidery thread and started stitching.
  4. Layered a 3 by x 8 inches piece of pattern paper with a slightly bigger card stock inked with purple for the background of my card.
  5. Then I arranged the letters in front of the card. Altering between liquid glue and foam tape.
  6. The sentiment is from Stitched Alphabets Descriptors Sentiments stamp set stamped with Versamark ink on black card stock strip and embossed with white embossing powder.

Here are some more photos of this card.

Second Card

This second card is also a slimline size which measures 3 and a half by 8 and a half inches . But this one I created in a portrait style. I use Accent Opaque White card-stock for my card-bases.

  1. I die cut the letters with white card stock. But this time i didn’t add the stitching. As I wanted the colorful shadow layer behind the white letters.
  2. I die cut the shadow layer with pattern paper.
  3. Added the white letters on the pattern piece layer with foam tape.
  4. Arranged the letters of the word THANKS directly on the card front with liquid glue
  5. The sentiment again is from Stitched Alphabet Descriptors Sentiments stamp set. Stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with White Embossing Powder.

These sentiments are so fun. It is a must have in your sentiment stamp collection.

Third Card

When I picked these letters I also thought of what other words i can create. Both my kids’ name start with the letter S and our last name is A. So i could create a monogram card for them.

I love stitching these kinds of dies. But you can also create beautiful cards without the stitching.

  1. I used the letter die and the shadow layer die both together to cut just the outlines of these letters.
  2. Then i cut just the shadow layer with pattern paper.
  3. Adhered them together with liquid glue to get this cool pattern initials with white outlines.
  4. For the background I used a panel of card-stock embossed using Simon Says Stamp embossing folder. Matted it with slightly bigger red card stock.
  5. Added the letters with foam tape on the background
  6. The again I added another embossed sentiment strip from the Stitched Alphabets Descriptors Sentiments stamp set to complete my card.

Here are some more photos of this card.

I am sure I can come up with tons of design ideas to use this die set. As alphabet dies are very versatile. It is totally worth investing in these dies.

I hope this inspires you to create fun cards like this using this release.

Hugs,
