Encouragement Cards and Rachel Vass Designs Release

Welcome to my blog!

I am honored to be a guest designer for Rachel Vass Designs for the month of April. So I will be sharing more cards in the near future using her digital stamps.

Most of you know Rachel releases a new digital stamp every week. What I love about digital stamp is these are instant download and you don’t have to wait in the mail for it to arrive. You can resize the images to your desired size and there are endless creativity options.

Well, let’s get on to the actual card I am sharing today. I have two cards to share with you today.

The First Card

Focal Image

The main focus of this card is the wonderful digital stamp by Rachel Vass which is a new release that came out on April 4, 2020.

I printed this image on white cardstock and started coloring. Keeping one of the hydrangea photo references on the side I picked some Prismacolor pencils in shades blue-green and purples for the flowers and some greens for the leaf.

The Background

The background for this card I wanted to keep simple but still some textures. I used a panel of gray cardstock cut to A2 size and embossed using the embossing folder by Spellbinders. Then splattered some metallic watercolor splatters in gold.

The sentiment

There were some sentiments in beautiful fonts included in the stamp with the flower design. I printed those as well and cut it out using my silhouette cameo machine.

The Second Card

The Focal Image

For this card, I colored the hydrangea flower in copic colors. I picked some contrasting colors like yellow for the highlights and red violets for the shadow part of the flowers and greens for the leaf.

The Background

For the background as this is almost a one layer card I just ink blended a distressed oxide ink in color from the sides of the panel and kept it simple.

The Sentiment

Again the sentiment for this card came from the stamp set. I love the encouraging sentiments in this stamp set. “You are stronger than you think”

I really loved how these cards turned out.

I hope I was able to inspire you. I hope you will give these ideas a try. Please let me know in the comments what do you think about this card .

Hugs

Jyoti
