Home for the Holidays: Three Festive Card Creations with Spellbinders

Card 1: Saint Nick’s Joyful Journey

Die Cutting Saint Nick

To begin my first card, I used the Saint Nick Etched Die to create a charming Saint Nick figure. I dressed him in a classic red outfit, complete with a white beard. Following the assembly instructions provided with the die set, I put together my festive Saint Nick, ready to bring joy to the card.

Crafting the Background

For the background, I used the Night and Day Pines Press Plates to foil a stunning day pine scene with gold foil on black cardstock. The gold foil against the black background created a striking contrast, perfect for a festive setting.

Adding the Sentiment

I chose the sentiment “Happy Holidays” from the Sending Joy Sentiments Press Plate, foiling it with gold on black cardstock to match the background.

Assembling the Card

To assemble the card, I adhered the foiled background to my card base. I then used foam tape to add the assembled Saint Nick, giving him a bit of dimension. I placed the sentiment across the center of the card to complete the look. This card combines traditional holiday elements with elegant foiling for a festive feel.

Card 2: Season’s Greetings in Gold

Creating the Foiled Background

For my second card, I once again turned to the Night and Day Pines Press Plates, this time foiling a night pine background with gold foil on black cardstock. This rich, dark background set the stage for a bold holiday message.

Crafting the Sentiment

I used the Sending Joy Sentiments Press Plate to foil “Season’s Greetings” in gold on white cardstock, creating a striking contrast that draws the eye.

Adding Snowflake Embellishments

To add a touch of winter magic, I die-cut snowflakes from white cardstock using a die from the Saint Nick Etched Die set. These delicate snowflakes were the perfect embellishment to finish the card.

Final Assembly

With the background and sentiment ready, I adhered the foiled background to my card base. I then added the sentiment and arranged the snowflakes around it, creating a balanced and festive design. This card is all about the beauty of gold foiling and simple yet elegant embellishments.

Card 3: Saint Nick in Pink

Crafting a Colorful Saint Nick

For my third card, I decided to give Saint Nick a fresh look by dressing him in a pink robe while keeping his iconic white beard. The Saint Nick Etched Die made it easy to create this whimsical version of the beloved holiday figure.

Foiling the Background

I opted for a white cardstock background, foiled with gold using the day pine pattern from the Night and Day Pines Press Plates. The light background provided a perfect canvas for the colorful Saint Nick.

Creating the Sentiment

Using the Sending Joy Sentiments Press Plate, I foiled “Sending Joy” in gold on white cardstock. This sentiment, with its warm message, complemented the cheerful color scheme of the card.

Assembling the Card

As with the first card, I adhered the foiled background to my card base. I used foam tape to add the pink-robed Saint Nick, giving him a dimensional effect. The sentiment was placed across the center of the card, tying everything together. This card brings a playful twist to traditional holiday themes, with its bright colors and joyful message.

Creating these cards with the Home for Holidays Collection from Spellbinders was a delightful experience. Each card showcases the versatility of the collection, combining classic holiday imagery with elegant foiling techniques. Happy crafting and happy holidays!

Hugs,

Jyoti
