The holiday season brings with it a world of magic and warmth, and what better way to share in the festive spirit than by crafting heartfelt cards that capture the essence of this special time of year? In this creative journey, I delve into the beauty of Poppystamps dies, featuring the enchanting NORDIC DEER CRAFT DIE, to bring to life two stunning cards that embody the Nordic Christmas theme. Join me in discovering the joy of crafting and the magic of the holidays as I explore the creation of these unique and captivating cards.
The Nordic Deer Die Set
Creating exquisite handmade cards often begins with selecting the perfect die set, and in this crafting adventure, I chose the NORDIC DEER CRAFT DIE from Poppystamps. To start, I carefully selected a color palette of soothing blues and fresh greens. Using this analogous color scheme, I proceeded to die-cut all the intricate pieces from the Nordic deer set, exploring the possibilities of mixing and matching colors for each deer pair. Despite employing the same color palette, the resulting two pairs of deer exude distinct charm and personality, making each card unique.
Crafting Enchanting Backgrounds
With the two pairs of deer gracefully assembled, the time had come to craft enchanting backgrounds for my cards. For this, I opted for two captivating cover plate dies- SCANDINAVIAN SNOWFLAKE PLATE CRAFT DIE and CORTINA PINPOINT PLATE CRAFT DIE To enhance the visual appeal, I cleverly layered shimmering glitter cardstock behind the die-cut shapes, allowing the twinkling stars and dots to shine through. For one card, I picked dark blue glitter cardstock, while for the other, a lighter shade of blue, both from GLITZY GLITTER PAD.
Deer Placement and Orientation
Placing the charming deer pairs at the center of each card, with a delightful twist in their orientation. On one card, the deer gracefully face away from each other, adding an intriguing dynamic to the composition. On the second card, I positioned them to face towards each other, creating a heartwarming connection. This small variation offers a refreshing change in the overall look of the cards, demonstrating the versatility of the Nordic deer die set.
Elegant Sentiments
For the sentiments, I turned to CHRISTMAS BANNERS CLEAR STAMP AND DIE SET. Using it to create messages that truly resonate with the festive spirit. With white embossing powder, I heat-embossed these sentiments onto blue and green cardstock, resulting in crisp and elegant typography. I carefully die-cut the sentiments into small strips. For interest I layered them with pieces of glitter cardstock. This creats a dazzling and eye-catching element that completes the Nordic Christmas-theme.
