Vibrant Holiday Cheer With Copperplate Happy Holidays

As the holiday season approaches, I found myself drawn to the bright and cheerful colors that evoke the warmth and joy of the festivities. This time, I decided to create two cards using the Copperplate Happy Holidays Sentiments BetterPress plate from Spellbinders. With a vibrant color palette of red, orange, and yellow, and a touch of gold foil, these cards are perfect for spreading holiday cheer.

Card 1: Ink Blended Note Card with Foiled Sentiment

For my first card, I began by foiling the “Happy Holidays” sentiment on white cardstock using gold foil on a top-folding card base, which was about about half inch smaller than an A2 size, The note card foiled piece became the focal point for my first creation.

Using Distress Oxide inks in Picked Raspberry, Orange, and Wild Honey, I ink blended the front of the card, creating a beautiful gradient that perfectly complemented the gold foil. Once the ink blending was dry, I gently wiped the foiling with a dry microfiber cloth to restore its shine.

Next, I created a panel of white cardstock using the day plate from the Night and Day Pine BetterPress plates, making an impression with black ink. Since I used regular cardstock instead of the BetterPress card, the impression wasn’t as deep, but it still produced a crisp image. I placed the ink blended note card in the center of this panel and added some clear jewel drops for an elegant touch. The result was a vibrant and eye-catching holiday card.

Card 2: Foiled Sentiment with Pine Background

For the second card, I cut out the foiled “Happy Holidays” sentiment into a small rectangle and matted it with black cardstock to create a thin, elegant border. This matted piece became the focal point for my next creation.

To create the background, I used the same color combination of Distress Oxide inks—Picked Raspberry, Orange, and Wild Honey—to ink blend another pine background. The rich and vibrant colors added depth and interest to the card. I then adhered the foiled and matted sentiment in the center using foam tape for added dimension. Finally, I embellished the card with clear jewels, giving it a touch of sparkle and elegance.

Creating these two cards was a delightful experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the process of ink blending and experimenting with vibrant colors. The Happy Holidays Copperplate Sentiments BetterPress plate, combined with the rich hues and gold foil, brought these holiday cards to life, making them perfect for spreading festive cheer.
